Preparing For Your Wedding
In advance of your special day, make sure you're fully prepared with everything you'll need for your marriage
Venue
Civil marriage ceremonies can be performed anywhere you like; from a wedding venue, to a community hall, to your own backyard or the destination of your dreams! If venue help is needed for a small ceremony, Sandi will gladly open her home to you.
Witnesses
The government of Alberta requires two witnesses to be present for your marriage ceremony. Witnesses can be provided (in-home ceremony only) for a fee of $30 each.
Marriage Licence
A marriage licence is required for your ceremony. You can apply for your licence in person at any Alberta Registries office. Find details and a list of required documents at the Alberta government's website.
